Graduation Information 2021 (most recent communication at the top)

Hello Graduates and families,
I have some very important updates to share so please read very carefully.

  1. There have been some recent restrictions placed on graduation ceremonies by our local health unit. Please read the following notes and follow the directions from staff closely on the graduation day celebration.

    a) Noone, except for staff, is allowed in the building. Please be aware that washrooms will NOT be accessible in the school.
    b) The celebration must not exceed groupings of 10, so please follow the direction of staff when you arrive so that we can safely adhere to the requirements.
    c) The Health unit has directed us to limit our guests to the graduate and 2 other family members. (3 in total)
  2. Please do not be late. If you arrive early, please wait in or around your vehicle until the graduate is scheduled to arrive at the Registration station. Only one student will be moving through the process at a time, so the 2 family guests will be directed where to stand to meet the Grad once they have received their diploma. Guests will have to stand in the designated area as there are no grouped seating arrangements allowed.
  3. Once the Graduate has received their diploma, please directly exit the ceremony area so that other Graduates can efficiently move through. There is no loitering or gathering allowed at all.
  4. We are moving forward with the ceremony rain or shine. We will have tents in place for weather protection and to section off the ceremony area. Please respect the boundary tape that will be used to block off areas. For the celebration to run smoothly, it is imperative that we follow protocol.
  5. Please bring your own water bottles as we are not able to provide refreshments.
  6. The schedule below reflects the last names of the Graduates. Please arrive at the registration station on time.
  7. There will be staff to guide you throughout the process.

Hello Graduates and Titan families, with Ford’s announcement yesterday, we now know that we will not
be able to have an in-school ceremony. However, as promised, there is a plan in place to have you come
to the school on Graduation day (Monday, June 28th) and experience a walk-through graduation where
we will celebrate all of your accomplishments in the best way possible.
We are so proud of everything that you have achieved in the past four years, and we can’t wait to see
you on the 28th!

Below, is a schedule to outline and to give you an impression of what to expect when you arrive at RMC
in your alpha order.

1. Please arrive at the school early enough to safely park and be at the first registration station at
your scheduled time. You will be directed where to park upon arrival at the school.
2. If there are guests arriving with the graduate, we ask that upon your arrival, you walk to the
main entrance of the school where there will be outdoor seating provided at the base of the
main entrance stairs.
3. Grads should report directly to the Registration Station at the sidewalk by the B doors (where
students entered the building this year). Students will receive a card with their name and any
awards listed.
4. Grads will receive Cap & Gowns off of hangers where they have been stored in advance to dewrinkle.
5. Grads will be directed (in groups of 10) down the sidewalk along the school toward the main
entrance.
6. At the next station, Grads will receive an RMC pendant from our Chaplain, Ms Lajoie.
7. Grads will wait in line until the group of 10 are ready to be presented for the presentation of
their diplomas in front of their guests seated at the base of the stairs.
8. A staff member will hand Grads a diploma folder (empty) to pose with for the photo.
9. Grads will give their card to the next staff member who will then read their name and award(s)
over a mic for the audience to hear.
10. The Grad will walk up the stairs where they will be greeted and congratulated by Ms Sywyk, the
principal. The students will pose in front of an RMC backdrop and have photo taken by Mr Ielapi.
Parents can take photos from the seating area but will not be allowed in the space of the stairs
where the Grads and teachers will be organized.
11. When the Grad walks down the stairs, they will return the Diploma folder at the next station and
receive their Actual Diploma in the RMC parting gift bag.
12. Grads and their guests will should then exit the area to make room for the next group of 10
grads.

Post Grad Day:
On Wednesday, June 30th, GRADUATES will be able to go on to the RMC Website where they will see
links to the following:

A) PowerPoint video link containing:
- Letters of congratulations from the Director, the Board of Trustees, & the Parent Council.
- There will be a slide for each Graduate with their name and the photo that was taken at the
ceremony on the 28th. If a student does not attend, a silhouette of a grad will be used in
place of the photo.

value will not be mailed to you until the fall when the awards were given out in the past)

Hello grad families, as a result on the ongoing lockdown, the photos currently booked with Lifetouch during this time have been cancelled. Noone is allowed in the building during lockdown. Lifetouch has sent out messaging to those that have booked with them to cancel current bookings during this time. Please contact Lifetouch (https://prestigeportraits.ca/) directly for further information about future booking dates or details around payments, refunds or general photo questions.

Revised graduation plans will be coming out soon. If photos are allowed to be done before the end of June, we will arrange for the individuals getting their photos done to pick up their gowns.
Otherwise, students will be picking up the gowns on the final celebration day, where they will also get a photo taken in-house at the school. (not a professional photo)

Thank you for your continued patience,
Ms O'Neill

Hello Grads and families, I have a few items to share.

1) The $30 grad fee, which was due today, is being extended to next week on Monday, May 10th. You must pay the grad fee through School Cash Online. The link to School Cash Online can be accessed on the RMC website through the Parents & Community link, or just follow the Graduation tab on the website. The link is also provided for you again here:

2)  I am asking that if you have not yet paid your grad fee, PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM below. It is only a few questions, but it will help me determine if students are opting out of paying the grad fee.

https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=h76mRqaU70-gBebTcGSYC0GwdZYIA7FIiSou3MwXO7xURTZITVA0Qkw1TkVXOVhOWDlRRTk4VlNBRC4u

3) Photos- It is important that you know photo booking through Lifetouch has remained open. Plans to do photos in the school have not changed because we do not have ANY OFFICIAL WORD from the government about when students are allowed back in the building. When there is an announcement to update what is allowed, we will send out information right away. If for some reason your booking has to be cancelled, you will be able to reschedule or arrange refunds directly through Lifetouch.

4) Plans to celebrate Graduation in the building on the last days of classes are still standing. We will not be announcing any changes to the original plans until we get further word from the Government and the School Board relating to the latest Covid protocols.

Virtual students are going to be included in whatever plan unfold, but I need to get a concrete number of how many Grads plan to pay the grad fee and participate for there to be any celebration grouping made. Further information will come out once numbers are finalized on the 10th (payment due date), and further direction comes from the School Board.

Please remember that all Grad information can be found by following the Graduation link on the RMC website.

Thank you, Grads!!!

Hello Graduates, please read the entire email carefully!

Many of you are wondering how the current lockdown affects our graduation plans. Although I do not have any concrete information that has been passed on to us regarding the lockdown, please make note of the following information:

Please pay your grad fee of 30$ by the deadline of MONDAY, MAY 3rd.
  • Even if we continue to be in lockdown in June, we will still be delivering everything included in the grad fee.
  • This includes your cap and gown that you will be able to keep!
  • It also includes your graduation Medallion and a RMG graduation Class of 2021 t-shirt
  • We are also hoping to have you wear your gown as we take a photo of you in front of an RMC backdrop to commemorate your graduation moment. The details of how this happens will be subject to the current covid protocols. Graduation pans will evolve as more information comes from the Government and we know the parameters for gathering and who can be in the building.

2 Graduation photos: We have not got official word that they are cancelled as of yet, but chances are that they might be due to the extended lockdown dates. As soon as I hear official word, I will let you know. IF YOU PAY FOR THE RMC GRAD FEE, you can use the cap and gown to take photos at your leisure, since you will own the cap and gown.
  • If you have booked grad photos with Lifetouch, all cancellation refunds will be done directly through the company. The school does not do refunds for Lifetouch.

While there are still many unknowns about how Graduation will look this year, we do know that there will be a virtual Grad presentation, but we are planning to have you walk through the building to simulate the proud moment where you receive your diploma. We are also underway with organizing your Graduation photos within the school if Covid protocols continue to permit us to be in the building.

I am looking to organize a Graduation Teams meeting while you are in class within the next few weeks so that we can deliver the messaging about the Graduation fee, what it will include this year, as well as the Graduation Photo fees with a presentation from Lifetouch.
